Atmospheric Plasma

Precise designation: "Atmospheric Pressure Plasma".

A technical plasma under natural atmospheric pressure. Therefore no closed chamber is needed therefore substrates to be treated by an atmospheric plasma may be of unlimited size and length.

Process gases generally used may be natural air (usually waterfree), Oxygen or Nitrogen. Also inert gases like Argon, Neon or Helium may be used. Atmospheric Plasma is generated by an electric discharge under high voltage. The mean free path of particles is small under atmospheric pressure and therefore the plasma is located in a very small volume.

Plasmabeam
Atmospheric pressure is located on a small volume. For treatment of a bigger surface very often a set of several plasma generators is combined.
